Honda 50th Anniversary

Honda marked its first 50 years in America, commemorating the establishment of American Honda Motor Co., in a small Los Angeles storefront on June 11, 1959.

Identity, Outdoor Banners and Graphic Standards Manual

Honda’s advertising agency, RPA, looked towards EDG to create an inspiring 50th Anniversary design that captures the true essence of Honda’s historic technological advances in America ever since their inception in 1958. The agency creative team and their client also wanted our designers to create a compelling commemorative logo that would embody the innovative style and boldness of their founder Soichiro Honda. Working closing with RPA, EDG ultimately sought to create an identity that, while celebrating Honda’s proud legacy, also personifies the company’s proud forward-thinking vision. With this stately mark, you’ll notice that the road culminates in the image of a distant star, a dream-like foreshadowing of the bold strides in leadership and innovation that this company will continue
to implement over the next 50 years and beyond. In addition, an elegant graphic standards manual was developed to serve for all creatives with specific guidelines on how this themed logo would integrate with
all of Honda’s advertising and marketing collateral effectively.
